Electrical Maintenance Technician

This family-owned company located in West Bromwich (West Midlands, UK).

 

They manufacture intermediates for the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Speciality Chemical industries as well as many others and our team of chemists are experts in custom synthesis, contract manufacture and process optimisation.

A vacancy has arisen to join the Electrical Department.  This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled Electrical Engineering team within a lower tier COMAH facility. The successful candidate will be an experienced, qualified Electrical Technician and we are looking for an immediate start.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience listed below:-

  • Electrical preventative and reactive maintenance work in an industrial environment.

  • Electrical plant installation and modification work in an industrial environment.

  • Statutory inspections.

  • The use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.

  • The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals and other technical information to assist with all works.

  • Work in accordance with the company safe systems of work and permit to work systems.

  • Ideally have a good understanding of ATEX requirements.

Qualifications/Training

  • Educated to RQF level 3 (e.g. City & Guilds level 3) in a practical Electrical discipline as a minimum.

  • Ideally you would have a recognised Electrical apprenticeship.

  • Ideally you have the 18th edition electrical wiring regulations.

  • Ideally you would have a Compex (Ex01-04) & (Ex05-06) qualification but this is not a necessity.

  • Ideally you would also have training with MEWP’s.

Career development will be possible with both internal and external training available.

40-hour working week, ½ hr lunch, Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm, paid sick scheme, free life assurance and access to a stakeholder pension scheme, based in West Bromwich, West Midlands.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Key duties revolve around installation of mechanical components on machines and offices.

Maintenance of machines as well as troubleshooting and repairs whenever there is a breakdown.

Schedule and undertake periodic maintenance on all equipment, components, and installations.

  • Provide prompt response to enquiries whenever there is a breakdown and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

  • Ensure that equipment is in good working order to prevent disruption of activities.

  • Installation of fresh mechanical components and fittings.

  • Recommend replacement for old or faulty components or fittings to the management.

  • Assist in forecasting requirements.

  • Keep record of all stock and supplies, including company’s equipment.

  • Working in collaboration with the production team to formulate the best cost-effective manufacturing process.

  • Help the organisation to reduce energy costs.

  • Fix and maintain lighting fixtures and fittings.

  • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and provide preventive maintenance services.

  • Learn new skills and attend training programs to increase knowledge of trends and

  • Provide safe working environment for members of staff, and ensure accidents and mishaps are prevented.

  • Supervise and/or support contractor control onsite.

  • Support the company in increasing profitability by managing resources efficiently and making necessary recommendations.
